Charity Needs Foundation is helping to build awareness for WFFT, a registered Thailand charity that is raising funds and awareness of the millions of wild animals in cages worldwide kept as pets or for exploitation in tourism.
On Friday 10th July 2020 and until further notice, WFFT's founder, Edwin Wiek will be entering the cage,
that was home to a chimpanzee named, Canoe, who lived in it in Bangkok for 32 years.
Several days before this date, shortly after his arrival at WFFT, Canoe was released from that trap to a more open enclosure that WFFT built especially to accommodate him and make him feel somewhat free to roam.
Edwin will be locked up in the cage to help create that awareness and hopefully reduce the millions of wild animals kept as pets in cages worldwide or for exploitation in tourism.
It is WFFT's intention to build an island enclosure free of bars where Canoe and three other chimps that will be joining him may live out the rest of their lives — happy and fun filled.
This event can be followed “LIVE” on WFFT's Facebook page, where you can interact with Edwin at all times, trying to make his life in the cage more
comfortable or uncomfortable if you would rather see him suffer. You can donate to get Edwin out earlier, or if you wish, to keep him in the cage longer
You can take away more of his comfort or freedom or give him treats!
WFFT aim at raising funds during this event to care for and feed over 700 wild animals at their projects.
The event will begin around noon, Thailand time, and Edwin will only be allowed to exit the cage to go to the bathroom, not more than 6 times a day and no longer than 10 minutes at a time (max 1 hour a day in total), until WFFT have reached 25,000 Dollars in donations!
How can you help? Any donation to WFFT's PayPal account, WFFT's Thai or Dutch bank accounts will add to the target to get Edwin out of the cage, but you can also donate to “enrichments” of the caged man, 10 dollars gets Edwin an enrichment in the cage, that could be some fruit, a drink or something to play with. If you think his life in the cage is getting too comfortable you can donate to take away some of his freedom or convenience! What about a 50 dollars donation to wake him up in the middle of the night? Someone of our staff is available all night to make that happen! It is all up to you, you can make or brake him during this event.
To Make Him:
Give an enrichment 25 dollars up (A snack or drink or whatever)
Give an enrichment 50 dollars (A beer or wine)
Let him have a shower (10minutes) 200 dollars
To Break Him:
Hose him down! 250 dollars
Tom in the cage with him 200 dollars
Take away his phone (2 hours) 500 dollars
Poke him with a bamboo stick 300 dollars
Wake him up at night 250 dollars
Make him read chapter of his own book 100 dollars
Continuous noice at his cage (15 minutes) 200 dollars
Throw away the key! 5,000 dollars
Buy him bolt cutters (only AFTER someone threw away the key) 5,000 dollars
Do your worst, we think this will be a special must not miss event.
